What We’re Doing:
Come create a magical reading cafe with us! Young artists will have a chance to make books of all kinds: picture books, story books, manga, and sculptural pop-up books. We will also make posters, windows and curtains, beanbag chairs and pillows, café food and dishes, and whatever else we can imagine for a cozy café visitors can curl up and read in. Artists will get to draw, paint, make prints, sew, and sculpt, with plenty of freedom and support for following their own interests. They will be able to work independently or collaboratively. Our creations will become part of the All Hands Reading Cafe, an installation in Woodmere’s Helen Millard Children’s Gallery this September.

Camp will run for three weeks. Each week will be different, so you can sign up for as many as you would like to.

Doing individual portfolio projects or other kinds of projects is also an option—- there will be plenty of time and support for each person’s artistic expression!

Age Range
These camps will be multi-age groups, ranging from 6 to 26. Each artist will get to enjoy camaraderie with people younger and older than they are, as everyone works at their own developmental level.

About COVID:
We will be meeting indoors and outside on my loading dock, which is shady in the mornings, and is covered by a canopy. Vaccination is strongly recommended, and we will practice social distancing. Please don’t have your camper come to camp if they are sick!

About fees:
The cost for art camp is $210/week, with a sliding scale of $140 to $420. We use the honor system: please use financial aid only if you need it, and please consider paying extra if you have it. Since building an inclusive, diverse artistic community is at the heart of our mission, let’s all work together to include everybody

Please also let me know if you need additional scholarship support—- I don’t want money to stand in our way!

DISCOUNTS:
Sign up by April 2 for an early-bird discounted price of $195, with a sliding scale of $130 - $390.
You can also sign up for multiple weeks for the same discount.

You can register and pay here. If you are registering for more than one week, you can complete one registration form and write in multiple weeks.

DUE TO LIMITED SPACE, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOLD A SPACE FOR YOU UNTIL I RECEIVE A 50% DEPOSIT.
