Deep thanks to all the artists and their allies who created
Walk in the Rainforest !

Walk in the Rainforest was an immersive installation that transformed the Millard Children’s Gallery at Woodmere Art Museum into a magical environment full of the lush beauty and vibrant colors of the rainforest. This exhibition was a celebration of the creativity of the diverse group of 6 to 23 year old artists who made it. It invites us to join them in their appreciation of the biodiversity and crucial role of rainforests in our world, and their commitment to working together to protect these precious, irreplaceable places.

Big thanks to all of the artists who participated, and all the parents, mentors, and other community members who installed and de-installed the show. It really does take a village to make a rainforest! It was only possible because of each person’s invaluable contribution.

You can see the show and meet some of our artists here, and see a “Behind the Scenes” video here. Stay tuned for a video of the show!

ABOUT ME

I’m Mindy Flexer, and I started an art school in my studio 2007 to give people of all ages and walks of life a place to come together to create art, community, and social change. My studio and school is a place of belonging and connection, where every person is welcomed, cherished and nurtured. It's a place where people get to be themselves, have big dreams, and take on big challenges together. It is a base camp: meaningful in itself, but also a safe home from which to launch other expeditions, and to which to return for sustenance.  As a working artist in Germantown, I’m delighted to invite people into my studio to share the journey of being artists together at this key moment in history.
