BIRTHDAY PARTIES
FOR ANY AGE or any other special occasion!
Birthday parties at the loft are great fun! Children at the party get to make things in a real artist’s studio, and their parents get to socialize with each other in the rest of the loft if they choose to stay. The easy flow between these two spaces means everyone can enjoy both studio time and time for eating and relaxing.
What we do:
Generally, children do art projects in the studio for the first forty-five minutes to an hour, have a break for cake, and then spend a little more time in the studio. Presents can be opened here or at home.
What to bring:
Parents bring snacks, birthday cake, paper supplies, and decorations. I supply all the art materials and instruction. Party guests can take their projects home at the end of the party.
Who should come:
You, your child, and their guests, to start! If your child is younger than six years old, I recommend that at least a few additional parents stay. Children enjoy the extra attention, and parents enjoy getting to hang out. If you child is older, guests’ parents are still welcome to stay if they would like to.
What it costs:
Parties cost $75/hour for the party, plus one additional hour to cover set-up and clean-up, for a party of up to 10 children. I recommend a two-hour party, because the pace is more relaxed, especially if there are latecomers. A one-and-a-half hour party can also work.
For more than 10 party guests, there is an additional fee of $15/child, and the birthday child is free.
There is also a $25 fee for materials that covers all the things I have at my Make-Ins: collaging, drawing, stamping, bookmaking, and printmaking. Other activities, such as painting T-shirts, using model magic clay, or decorating picture frames are possible for an additional fee.
I need a 50% deposit to hold a date.
