What We’re Doing
In the Winter 2 art class will continue, we will continue our Winter 1 work of creating a magical reading cafe! Young artists will have a chance to make books of all kinds: picture books, story books, manga, and sculptural pop-up books. We will also make posters, windows and curtains, beanbag chairs and pillows, café food and dishes, and whatever else we can imagine for a cozy café visitors can curl up and read in. Artists will get to draw, paint, make prints, sew, and sculpt, with plenty of freedom and support for following their own interests. They will be able to work independently or collaboratively. Our creations will become part of the All Hands Reading Cafe, an installation in Woodmere’s Helen Millard Children’s Gallery this September. Each series of classes will be different, so please feel free to sign up for one or both.

Fees
Break-even is $108, plus a $10 materials fee, with a sliding scale of $70 - $216. Please use financial aid only if you need it, and please consider paying extra if you have it, so we can create accessibility and balance. Scholarships are available— let’s not let money stand in our way!

Building an inclusive, diverse artistic community is at the heart of our mission. With this in mind, all fees are on a sliding scale, to make the class accessible to as wide a range of artists as possible. The sliding scale is on the honor system. Please be thoughtful about what financial aid you need and what financial resource you can contribute. I recommend that people pay between two-thirds to double the break-even fee for the class, but it is fine to pay less if you need to or more if you have it. Let’s all work together to include everybody!

To Make A Payment
You can check out here if you want to use a credit card to pay the break-even fee. Or, you can pay a different amount by emailing me about how to make a PayPal payment. You are always welcome to pay any amount by sending a check made out to Mindy Flexer to me at 5225 Greene Street, Unit 9, Philadelphia, PA, 19144. Thanks!
