Join us for Walk in the Wissahickon!

Walk in the Wissahickon will be an immersive installation that will transform the Millard Children’s Gallery at Woodmere Art Museum into our beloved local treasure, Wissahickon Valley Park. A team of children, teens, and young adults will create this exhibition this spring and summer. It will celebrate our local ecosystem, and the ways that art, teamwork, and creative collaboration can protect our planet and transform out world.

Summer Art Camp will be the weeks of August 11 and August 18, 9am to 3pm

Come join our multi-age artistic community! We will work on the Wissahickon installation, and doing individual portfolio projects or other kinds of projects is also an option—- there will be plenty of time and support for self-expression and for experiencing the magic of creative collaboration.

Each week will be different, so you can sign up for one or both. Please reach out to me at maflexer@gmail.com if you would like to request additional dates for art camp, or if you would like to participate in some other way. We need artists, designers, installers, and drivers, and would love to work with you!

ABOUT ME

I’m Mindy Flexer, and I started an art school in my studio 2007 to give people of all ages and walks of life a place to come together to create art, community, and social change. My studio and school is a place of belonging and connection, where every person is welcomed, cherished and nurtured. It's a place where people get to be themselves, have big dreams, and take on big challenges together. It is a base camp: meaningful in itself, but also a safe home from which to launch other expeditions, and to which to return for sustenance.  As a working artist in Germantown, I’m delighted to invite people into my studio to share the journey of being artists together at this key moment in history.
